Mr. President of the European Council,
Mrs. President of the European Commission,
I, as a citizen of Germany, urge you to lift the visa requirements for Russian tourists. I believe that such a measure would benefit both the European Union and Russia, and would contribute to greater understanding and cooperation between our peoples.
Tourism is an important industry for many countries in the European Union. Tourists from Russia make up a significant portion of visitors to the EU, and they contribute considerably to local economies. Lifting the visa requirement for Russian tourists would make travel to Europe more affordable and appealing, leading to increased tourist numbers and higher tourism revenue.
Furthermore, visa exemption would create a more favorable environment for people-to-people exchanges between the European Union and Russia. Tourism can be a powerful tool for building bridges between cultures and promoting mutual understanding. When people can visit other countries more easily, they can experience each other’s way of life firsthand and break down stereotypes.
I understand that there are concerns regarding the lifting of visa requirements for Russian tourists. However, I believe that these concerns can be mitigated through the implementation of effective security measures. For example, the European Union could introduce an electronic travel authorization system for Russian citizens, which would screen their biographic and travel history data.
Lifting the visa requirement for Russian tourists would be a positive step for both the European Union and Russia. It would strengthen economic ties, encourage people-to-people exchanges, and build stronger relations between our nations.
I urge you to consider my request and lift the visa requirements for Russian tourists. Let us work together to create a more open and interconnected world.
